Jeff and I are so excited to be new members of Trinity Baptist Church here in Walla Walla. This last Sunday we headed out for our first Sunday service since moving over here, and we are pleased to say that we have found our "church home". It was so inviting and exactly what we were looking for. The pastor was wonderful and the service was great....we had to laugh because the service was focused on Gods Grace, and the definition of Grace according to scripture is "good for nothing". Grace is given to us even though we don't deserve it because God is so loving and compassionate. But all Jeff and I kept thinking was Grace=good for nothing and we had to laugh since our daughter is our life and she is good for everything.
Anyway, the best part of the entire morning was our nursery experience. Jeff and I had planned on at least letting her "try it out", but neither of us really expected her to actually spend the entire service in there. Well we were so wrong. When we took her in the lady gave her a name tag and helped us sign her in and once Gracie saw all the toys and the other little babes playing she was hooked. We could hardly get her attention to say bye-bye. During the service I was very anxious and thought for sure our little buzzer would go off signaling that she needed us, but again i was wrong. Once the service was over Jeff and I couldn't wait to go see her and pick her up. When we got back to the room, she was playing in a far corner elbow deep in a basket full of blocks. The nursery aides said she was absolutely a peach and that she played so well and was fully content the entire time. Jeff and I were shocked, and what was even more amazing was that she really didn't want to leave. It was great and I think this Sunday we will be able to really pay attention and relax during service knowing that she is so happy in there.
Today so far has been absolutely fabulous....this morning was my first MOPS group experience and I am totally hooked. I have heard and read so many great things about this group in the past and I have been so anxious to become a part of it. For those of you who are reading and don't know what MOPS is, it is a group of moms who get together twice a month for fellowship, crafts, playdates and more....today was my first group and I will be reccomending it to all my "mom friends" who have infants and young children. I am so happy to have made some new friends today and am excited to be a part of women that meet up on a regular basis, its going to be sooooooo good for me. Our project right now is putting together shoe boxes for children across the world who are in need, so if any of you are interested in helping out with this or making donations, they are much appreciated. Oh, and I forgot to mention on Gracies behalf, the best part of the whole thing was that she got to play in the nursery during the entire 2 hour group and she had a BLAST!!! There are so many toddlers and newborns at the church. And during the group today I discovered that there are also LOTS of expectant mommies.....I am the next one due, and the only one out of I think 6 or so that is having a girl. Olivia's going to have lots of boyfriends, LOL.
We also had Gracie's first dentist appt. today. It went really well and they were pleased to hear that Gracie likes to brush her teeth, but also informed me that since her bottom two are so close together that we need to be good about flossing 2 times a day. Otherwise she will for sure get cavities...so it looks like i need to make a little chart for the bathroom to help me remember, especially with Olivia on the way. They did show me a really great way to help them relax and enjoy brushing, by having two people do it, so Daddy will get to participate too!!!
We are off to the hospital this afternoon for our pre-registration and birthing center tour...I have heard wonderful things about it and I am anxious to take a look around. Only 31 days til the due date.....We are so excited to meet her and to see how Grace responds. While at the store yesterday we saw a very tiny, hungry newborn and when he cried Gracie was so intrigued and curious. She acted like she just wanted to go over and give him "loves". Its going to be so fun, and now I have a whole group of other moms for support, what a relief.
Have a great day and a blessed week everyone!!!!!
