Busy Busy Busy

Wow...I have had no time for blogging lately; having two sick kids has been crazy and has needed my full attention. it has been one crazy roller coaster around here lately. As most of you know when Olivia and I came home from the hospital, Gracie was very sick with a sinus cold and so despite all the hand sanitizer and washing, Olivia and I both ended up with it. Since then we just keep passing it around the 3 of us. Jeff has somehow managed to avoid it all together which has been a blessing, since he has been able to provide me with lots of extra help.
On Friday the 21st both girls had appointment at the pediatrician, Dr. Bergstrom. Gracie checked out with perfect health, weighing in at 19.11lbs, and 29in tall. She received her 12m vaccines, which were no fun at all and were sent home with a warning about the MMR...will explain later in blog...She is also officially our little walker now. She only crawls when she wants to get to her destination faster. Ms. Olivia was also perfectly healthy and weighed in at 8lbs and was 20 1/2in long. She has had wonderful weight gain due to her unquenched thirst...she is a little piggy!!! Olivia's PKU results came back perfect as well. We are so thankful and blessed to have another perfectly healthy baby!
Speaking of thankfulness...we decided to take an early Thanksgiving trip to Aunty Dawna's and Uncle Steve's last Saturday. They live in Spokane and so we thought since its only a 3 1/2 hour trip that we would just go for the day. we had a wonderful time and a delicious turkey dinner. It was very special because Stephanie, Jeff's niece, had never met Gracie and so she got to meet both girls at the same time. When it was time to go we prepped a bottle and were out the door, quite proud of ourselves and had high hopes for the trip home. Unfortunately, they cried off and on the entire trip. It was exhausting and we have decided that we are never leaving the house again, LOL!
Then on Thanksgiving Day Gracie was more irritable than normal and our plans were nearly cancelled. When we made it out to my Grandparents house things went wonderfully and we had another great dinner. But by the time we got home Gracie had a temp of 101.7....this is where the MMR warning came in...apparently 1/20 children develop fever and/or rash after receiving this vaccine because it is a "live" vaccine. So for 3 days poor Gracie was sick again and it seemed like none of us got any sleep. Hopefully we will all be 100% healthy soon and we can put the kleenex box back in the cupboard.
I have to give my dear husband some extra credit and brag a moment....He has been the most wonderful husband and father. He takes such good care of us and has been here to help me at every opportunity. I am so grateful for his love and compassion. This proved most true our first week home and then last week when Gracie had the fever. *Love you Honey*
For the update on Gracie...In the last two weeks she has completely shocked Jeff and I with her walking and her new interest in communicating with us. She is still mostly jabbering, but more and more each day her communication skills improve. She loves to repeat the words on her baby einstein videos and is doing a great job copying as the children in the movies do different things.
Its wonderful being a mother of 2, and not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Although, I had a pretty bad emotional breakdown just last night...I was very tired. We want to thank everyone for all their love and support and will keep u all updated as often as possible. xoxo
