Well today marks the beginning of my 3rd week of watching Jeremy. Everyone is finally getting to know one another and all seems to be calming down a bit. Now if I could just get Ms. Olivia to slow down a bit.
She is a wild child (thankfully also sweet and content) and can't wait to chase the big kids.
Olivia is scooting all over, still hasnt figured out how to crawl yet, but has mastered how to sit on her knees and grab on to things and pull herself up. It has made things so much harder, because one minute she will be right in front of me, the next she is in another room nearly loosing her balance while holding onto a basket or chair...She has also really started to enjoy eating. She loves the Gerber Puffs, they dissolve faster than cheerios and have lots of different flavors to choose from. This weekend she had soft apple chunks and this morning I gave her peach chunks...(cut up smaller than regular fruit cup size)...she has wonderful hand-eye coordination and does a great job getting the food to her mouth all on her own. This is so different than Grace, she was so sensitive to texture and size and choked very easily so she didnt eat these things until she was much older. The two of them enjoy eating side-by-side in their highchairs..I just have to watch so Gracie doesn't share, her bites are much too big for little Liv.
Both the girls are obsessed with an Elmo movie that we have called "Elmo and the Bookaneers"... its about pirates who love to read and we watch it at least 2-3 times a day. Jeff and I have managed to learn all the songs and find ourselves humming them in the strangest places. The beloved "baby einstein" movies have nearly been forgotten since Elmo came along. So funny how things change.
Grace's vocabulary is exploding...and she is really learning how to "pretend play". She usually likes to pretend she is going "bye bye to work", which she has picked up from Daddy's daily ruitine. She goes to the door, knocks and then will say "bye bye to work" and then she runs back in the room and says "hello!!" Its very cute. She also loves to rock her babys and feed them with her toy bottle. She has bits and parts of songs memorized and is very proud of herself when she sings her version to you. She LOVES ring around the rosie...mostly just the spinning, she thinks getting dizzy is hilarious. Our new favorite words are:
Beautiful..which she pronounces a little backwards
and the ever so popular from last month "nicken" Chicken
She is really starting to put sentences together, the one she says most frequent is.."uh oh wiwi Elmo, oh no, all done, oh no, on Elmo. This basically is translated as Elmo movie is all done, can we turn it back on....this is usually a stall tactic before bed. We are so proud of her and excited that she is doing so well!!
Well I guess Ive rambled enough...hope you all have a great week!
P.S. Belated Thank you Grammy for sending the kitty card...it really made her day and is nearly wrinkled to the point where you cant read it because it was toted around all day. It was a real treat!
