Well, the first day of the year has come and gone and our family didn't really seem to notice. Poor Gracie got some kind of virus and didnt sleep at all new years eve, then yesterday she had spiking high temps that reached 103.1 degrees, YIKES!!! After calling the on-call nurse we got some tips and helped Gracie cool down. Last night was a little better, and today she is doing great. Still not 100 % but were getting there.
As for Mom, she is also doing great today. They increased the pressure on her drain again yesterday, and immediately became disoriented and sleepy all over again. But the doctor was convinced that her body just needed some real time to adjust, and that our last two attempts just weren't long enough. Well, so far so good. She woke up this morning feeling a little more like herself, and according to Grammy and Terry she was being her silly self and was asking for a latte. These are all great signs. This time, they are monitoring the pressure with a gauge, so that they know if the drain needs to be increased or decreased. Its too bad they didnt use this tool before, but I am grateful that they are using it this time around.
I will do my best to keep the blog updated, but as you can tell its been a little crazy around here.
Hooray for 2009, my resolution is to go the entire year without getting pregnant....LOL and to lose some of this baby weight.
