Too Hot for 4th of July

Yesterday started off GREAT...but things didn't really go as originally planned. We started our morning off with a wonderful walk to the Saturday market with Grannie. We met up with Grandpa and Grandma Moline, and even got to see Dennis. After a little shopping and browsing we headed back towards the house because the girls were ready for naps and it was getting really hot outside. Once we got home the girls had lunch/bottles and headed to bed for a nap...they slept for 3 1/2 hours. Totally not what we expected!! Usually when they go down together we are lucky if we get 2 or 2 1/2 hours out of them. Just goes to show they have been busy girls the last few days.

By this time it was already 2:30 and somewhere near 100* outside. We decided it was too long a walk in the heat and stayed in for the afternoon. (sorry Nana, we heard you brought goodies for lunch and would have LOVED seeing you) We went out to play around 3:30, but even with the water on it was just too hot for the girls to enjoy...so we kept them busy inside until bedtime.

After putting them down around 7:30 I got in my jammies and crawled in to watch a little TV and relax. I was asleep by 9:00! Fireworks...what fireworks??? I heard a few going off in the neighborhood, but I never saw even one firework! Silly how much changes when you have kids. Maybe next year we will chance keeping them up for the big event.

This morning we said goodbye to Grannie as she left to go back to the West side. She already called and got home safe and sound. We had a wonderful visit and are looking forward to her trip over in two weeks!
